You are likely to encounter Rhinos (black and white) – a key highlight of the park, Lions, cheetahs, and hyenas which are often active in the morning, Giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and various antelope species such as impalas and hartebeests. The park also hosts rich birdlife including ostriches, secretary birds, crowned cranes, and other migratory species.
During the game drive, you will enjoy scenic views with Nairobi’s skyline in the background, creating iconic photo opportunities. You arrive at a selected restaurant or lodge in Nairobi, typically within the Lang’ata or Karen area, where you can enjoy a relaxed lunch at your own expense. Take this time to unwind, refresh, and choose from a range of local and international dishes. It’s the perfect opportunity to recharge and reflect on your morning experiences before continuing with the afternoon activities.
1:30 PM | Departure to the Giraffe Centre
You depart for the Giraffe Centre in Lang’ata, enjoying a pleasant drive through Nairobi’s leafy suburbs. Along the way, take in views of quiet neighborhoods and green landscapes, offering a calm and scenic transition from the city buzz to one of Nairobi’s most iconic wildlife conservation attractions.
At around 2.00 PM you arrive at the Giraffe Centre, home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. As you explore the center, you learn about giraffe conservation efforts and ongoing breeding programs aimed at protecting this rare species. From the raised observation platform, you enjoy close-up interactions, including the unique opportunity to feed the giraffes, making for a truly memorable experience. Take advantage of excellent photo opportunities while gaining meaningful insight into wildlife conservation and education.
You’ll enjoy a relaxed drive through the Karen and Lang’ata areas, taking in the scenic surroundings at an easy pace. Depending on time and traffic conditions, you may make optional brief stops for souvenir shopping, adding a flexible and personalized touch to your afternoon.
At around 4:30 PM, you begin the return journey back to the city. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as the day gradually winds down, reflecting on the memorable experiences from your full-day excursion.
